- You’re not a Victorian until you’ve experienced the history of our Yarra Valley Wineries.
If checking out some of Victoria’s historic buildings is your thing – then you can’t go past our Yarra Valley Wineries. The first of Victoria’s grape vines were planted at Yering Station in 1838 and first wine Yarra Valley wine was produced in 1845.
In 1892 Vines were planted along the Strinybark Creek by David Mitchell the father of Yarra Valley’s, Dame Nellie Melba. Melba’s historic home is still a part of the Coombe Estate, and is
open to the public for viewing on selected dates.

For an area so close to greater Melbourne, our Yarra Valley Wineries have quite a vibrant arts scene. We are lucky enough to have one of the best modern art galleries set on the grounds of the TarraWarra Estate Winery. If you love art and haven’t paid us a visit yet – you will be impressed by not only the grounds, the amazing structure of the gallery, and the visiting exhibitions. There is also an incredibly diverse sculpture and ‘guest exhibitions’ gallery at Linden Gate winery and Yering Station also has a choice selection of visiting exhibitions housed in their inspiring gallery.
